Lightsaber crafting

This article provides a preliminary guide for SWTOR Lightsaber, more advanced content such as related gameplay strategies could be found in this SWTOR Guide.

Any Star Wars fan knows that there is nothing cooler than the ability to wield the laser sword known as lightsaber, since wielding a SWTOR lightsaber symbolize a user’s control over the force. Everyone dreams of a chance to have their very own lightsaber and if you can’t have it in real life, having one (or several) in game might suffice.

In SWTOR, you can choose to be either a Jedi or a Sith in order to gain access to the ability to wield a lightsaber. There is a slight difference in appearance between a Jedi lightsaber and a Sith lightsaber. A Jedi lightsaber would come in either green or blue due to the crystal called Adegan, also known as Ilum crystals which the Jedi uses to craft the lightsaber and can be found only in the Crystal cave on Ilum. In contrast, a Sith lightsaber emits red or sometimes purple plasma because of the synthetic crystal within the hilt.

SWTOR Lightsaber crafting will be available though specific details of how it will turn out have not been revealed yet. However there is a video showing a Jedi constructing a lightsaber in a cave followed by a scene where the Jedi is then attacked by a monster.

Star Wars The Old Republic Weapons

August 17th, 2010 by admin

Star Wars The Old Republic takes place thousands of years before the Star Wars saga. During this time, the number of Jedi was much greater than the number displayed at the time during the rise of Emperor Palpatine. The Jedi and Sith were in constant battle over the fate of the galaxy. Star Wars The Old Republic weapons will see a familiar application with slight modifications in the new MMORPG.

According to the Star Wars The Old Republic guide, weapons such as lightsabers were a commonality during this era. In comparison to the Star Wars original trilogy, the Jedi were reclusive and unable to demonstrate their lightsaber wielding powers in public without drawing the attention of the Empire, specifically Darth Vader. During this time the Jedi were hunted down and destroyed by the Empire. The Old Republic era had different forms of technology available to construct a lightsaber weapon. Lightsaber crystals were in abundance and were used to construct various glows for each lightsaber. The uniqueness of each crystal extended from color to additional attributes. For instance, some crystals would bestow upon the user an additional bonus to strength or Jedi power gauge. The traditional lightsabers were available as well as the dual wielding lightsaber and double-edged lightsaber. In the Star Wars The Old Republic MMORPG Sith Inquisitors, Sith Warriors, and Jedi Consular utilize a version of this weapon.

Lightsabers however are not portrayed as the “ultimate weapon” during the Old Republic. To quote Han Solo, “…ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster by your side.” Star Wars the Old Republic weapons such blasters, rifles and grenades are used to killenemies including the Jedi. Grenades vary in utilization and can be used to stun, poison, or explode upon impact. This allows a particular class to get the jump on an unsuspecting opponent. The way by which confrontation is encountered will vary depending upon each class. For instance, a Smuggler may utilize a grenade by sneaking upon a enemy whereas an Imperial Trooper may march into battle and hurl a grenade to dispatch a foe. Smugglers are capable of duel wielding a pistol for a deadly barrage. Imperial Troopers are able to use rifles and much large guns to blow their opponents out of the water.
